Client Description
As the area's primary source for Tri-State area golf information, the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association partners with the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) to maximize the fun and experience of golfers throughout the region. The GCGA Foundation also provides academic scholarship opportunities to Tri-State junior golfers.
Client's Need
An online information center for golfers in the region. The goal is not only to connect their target market with local courses, but with other players and resources that help improve their game. It should also be a registration hub that illustrates the benefits of being a member of the GCGA. It would have to be kept up-to-date frequently, especially during golf season.
Our Solution
A massive website that showcases information on news, local tournaments (including live scoring), public and private clubs, handicapping, course rating, USGA rules, tips on improving, junior golf opportunities, weather, and more. Securely editable via its content management system, the site is maintained regularly by GCGA personnel. An interactive Google Map of all GCGA member golf clubs allows visitors to search geographically for their best fit of playing locations. Golfers can post questions to qualified experts, which are routinely answered in a column and/or news items. A variety of downloadable documents are available like tournament entry forms, but there are also links to online tournament registration too. Banner ad functionality also exists, fully controlled by GCGA and not a third-party ad server.
